How to Measure Your Helmet Size Correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible measuring tape.
It is important that the measuring tape runs at the widest point of the head – only then will you get an accurate result.
Place the measuring tape about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows at the front and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the measuring tape should run over the largest point at the back of the head (not too deep in the neck). The tape may run slightly diagonally – what matters is that it fits snugly around the largest circumference points of the head.
Make sure the measuring tape is snug but not cutting in. It’s best to measure 2–3 times to get the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimeters (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an Accurate Result
- Lay hair flat (e.g., do not measure with a voluminous hairstyle)
- Run the measuring tape horizontally or along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model/fit)
Important for Fit
The right helmet should fit snugly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a bit tighter at first, as the inner padding will adjust slightly over time.
No graphics, no stripes, no race-number fields: the Nexx X.R5R Plain in Black Matt is the new Nexx racing helmet in its most stripped-back form. A few red logo accents, otherwise just shape and technology. Underneath is an X-Matrix 2 shell at approx. 1,475 g, four shell sizes, a Recoil visor with X-Race Lock and a spoiler you extend by hand at the track. Approved to ECE 22.06.
Design: Black Matt with red accents
At Nexx, Plain really does mean plain. The whole shell wears matt black paint, and colour only comes into play through the red Nexx lettering. It runs vertically along the side behind the visor and shows up again at the spoiler and at the bottom of the chin bar. It is precisely these small red dots that keep the helmet from looking empty.

What the X.R5R does differently
The X.R5R is not a refreshed X.R3R but a model in its own right with a new shell and new mechanics.
X-Matrix 2 instead of carbon

An adjustable spoiler
At the rear you slide in the supplied extender and lengthen the spoiler without tools by a maximum of 20 mm. Long for the deep tuck behind the screen, short for a more upright riding position.

Important for switchers: visors, Pinlocks and spoiler parts from the X.R3R do not fit. There is no sun visor.
